The book is a quick read but it is really full of helpful hints, examples and insight. It was obvious that the author, Patrice Williams Marks, really knows what she is talking about. I think crowd-funding is a brilliant idea and one anyone considering going into business for themselves or that has an idea but not the cash to get it started need to know about and this book is a must read. I know the first thing I asked myself was, “What is crowd-funding?”. Crowd-funding is a new trend using various websites (Kickstarter being one of the most popular) and it works by helping people that have great ideas but don’t have the money to fund them. These people can pitch their ideas to the public in hopes that they will donate money to help fund them. I had watched a TV show once in the past that was basically crowd-funding. People try to convince the “sharks” to invest in their business. Kickstarter is a website that basically does the same except you are not on TV.

A Quick Read BUT Chockful of Crucial Information!!!

I was recently involved an Kickstarter campaign and reading this book would have saved us a lot of time and energy as first timers. You hear about the phenomenal successes of other peoples campaigns but then you reflect on the reality that the majority of campaigns fail. Where does one begin? Read this book, people!

I reviewed HACKING KICKSTARTER, INDIEGOGO: How to Raise Big Bucks in 30 Days (Secrets to Running a Successful Crowd Funding Campaign on a Budget). I must say it has awesome secrets about crowd funding projects. I actually am running a crowd funding project through teespring.com. I thought it would be alot more difficult but after reading this eBook I understand how crowd funding works and how to run a successful campaign.

I stumbled on the term “crowd funding” on Google the other day. I was looking for a way to generate capital for a memoir I created about the journey my wife and I had through in vitro fertilization (IVF). If you know anything about IVF you know it cost a lot of money to attempt.

Very informative

Crowd-Funding is a really awesome new trend and a new spin on social media. Using various websites (Kickstarter probably being the most popular) those who have great ideas but not the money to fund these ideas can pitch their ideas to the public in hopes that they will donate money to help fund them.

Having seen many, many Kickstarters and Indie gogo Campaigns pop up on my facebook and emails etc lately, I’d often wondered what it was all about. I really wondered if the people starting these, actually earned money. I wondered if I could start something, myself! I tried to think of what I could do, and what I could offer in exchange for people helping me.
