Step into the world of upscale, highbrow artistic expression. Mingle with the sophisticates as you delve into the deeper implications of the great masterpieces of the world. Stroll down the corridors of the world-famous Koala Museum of Modern Art (KOMA, pronounced "coma"), exploring its many galleries. First the East Wing, then West Wing, followed by the South Wing. Or just wing it. Better yet, read this book and save yourself all that walking. Commentaries appearing in this book were composed by our illustrious Chief Executive Curator, the same individual who brought the original exhibit to life by unearthing an unprecedented number of little-known great masterpieces, each with a common theme: the furry, friendly, mysterious koala. Readers will be amazed to see all the famous works of art into which the iconic koala has insinuated itself. Never been able to figure out why the Mona Lisa smiles? Check out her companion in canvas and you'll understand that enigmatic expression—it's hard to keep a straight face when there's a koala sidling up to you. Ever challenged friends to see what images you can find in an impressionist painting? It will be much more fun to interpret a Monet when there are koalas lurking in the leaves. Fail to see the point of modern art at all? Discover its new purpose as a playground for merry marsupials emerging from pattern and shadow, and learn to look at it in a new way. This lighthearted look at some of the marsupial-pieces of modern art will bring a smile to the face of anyone who has had to endure a boring museum tour, and lighten the spirits of those who enjoy whimsy in artwork.
As a trained artist myself and former art history student, I was fascinated to learn of the Koala Museum of Modern Art and the eclectic collection of works that it has assembled. The narratives in this book bring new incites into the artists, their work, and their appreciation of the cuddly Koala. A must read and a valuable addition to anyone’s library. Curator François D’Rigour work is much appreciated.

What a delightful trip through the world of art, and so cleverly done, both artistically and verbally! Leave it on your coffee table and your guest will get curious, and then start giggling, and then they’ll laugh out loud – so you get to enjoy it many times over. An incredibly creative book!
Awesome. Brilliant. Irreverent… Enjoy…

As an artist, mom, consultant with grown-ups and human … i love this book. Nancy has a unique vantage that combines a savvy array of worthy artists with the light-heartedness of one who sees enough to have fun and play, and the artistic skill to make it work in fun, surprising ways. Yes, laugh out loud; (you will in the preview). For parents, it’s like an older art version of “Classical Babies.” Not just for kids; really I’m just sharing my own pleasure at the author’s catch-you-by-surprise and where-did-that-come-from humor. Enjoy!
Surreal Romp with a twist!

This is an experience: A very clever tongue-in-cheek work of art. The author/artist plays humorously with classic works of art by inserting Koala bears into the piece while maintaining the style of the original. The concomitant commentaries with each piece are loaded with humor. Children will enjoy this as well! One has to see it to fully appreciate the book. Well worth it!

This is a laugh-out-loud book. Very clever tampering with famous art images — making a koalas show up in the least likely places. It’s a book children will enjoy, searching for the hidden koalas, and a book adults will appreciate for all the tongue-in-cheek commentary.
