Foundation and Practice – the basics for Westerners

This CD is an introduction to mindfulness that is aimed at an audience of Westerners who are not familiar with Eastern philosophy. This audio provides the foundational concepts necessary to have a meditation practice and gives a taste of several different types of practice.

This helps with many mental health problems

I have Bipolar disorder, severe panic disorder, and addiction problems. I recommend this to anyone who has problems similar to mine. Learning these techniques will help a lot in recovery. I will need to continue to take medications. With the combination of medication and learning to meditate I am able to cope with the everyday symptoms of my illnesses.

I have been practicing meditation for about six months and it has been a great experience. The instructor always referred to John Kabat-Zinn so I decided to read more about the practice. The book is great and it offers an in-depth discussion on what mindful meditation is and how we benefit from it. I strongly recommend this book to those interested or are already practicing mindful meditation.

I bought this product for a family member who is plagued by a number of medical issues including back pain compounded by anxiety and depression. He has been listening to the CDs daily since Christmas and has reported to feel better. He is also observed having a brighter affect and clearly more relaxed. This is a man who typically does not buy into alternative medicine/therapy. If it can work for him, anyone can see benefit from using it!
