This collection of classic and contemporary readings in ethics presents sharp, competing views on a wide range of fundamentally important topics: moral relativism and objectivism, ethical egoism, value theory, utilitarianism, deontological ethics, virtue ethics, ethics and religion, and applied ethics.

The Fourth Edition dramatically increases the volume s utility by expanding and updating the selections and introductions while retaining the structure that has made previous editions so successful.

This book is fantastic. My wife and I audited at 5 week class at Mt Mercy University the the eye toward incorporating a philosophy class into a high school curriculum (theology). Not having prior information about the class since we were informally auditing, we learned about it late. I went for the cheaper price (and yes, it was like new). I had some skepticism about being from Canada and getting here on a quick schedule, without paying extra for delivery. We had it in hand on the 3rd class.

Bought this book for my ethic’s class and enjoyed it very much. The readings were a little confusing but thanks to my awesome ethic’s teacher he helped explain the meanings of the readings.
