Geoff Kersey is one of my favourite watercolourists, and not only does he have an incredible talent for painting, but he also has a wonderful teaching style…probably the best teacher I have ever experienced, which is very difficult to achieve in book form. I also subscribe to ArtTutor.com where Geoff has many video classes, and his teaching style in videos also is second to,none. I have learned more from Geoff Kersey than from any other watercolour artist.

This book is perfect. Mr Kersey’s instruction is clear and specific with many examples of different types of skies and step-by-step pictures. I love watercolor painting however skies are not my strongest skill. This is the best manual for painting watercolor skies that I have come across yet. What an incredible resource! I am impressed!

Geoff makes the difficult medium of watercolour easy to learn and follow. His no nonsense and clear explanations with tips and hints are a big help to those of us who are very experienced or confident. I have had some success following his teaching and painting ‘along’ with him. I wish I could download some of his lessons on my iPad! Instead of the TV!

I have some other books from other authors. Some of those books have much more exciting artworks than this one has. Honestly, I think this is an average book in this aspect (the level of artworks). However, some of those other books are not good guidance books at all. Those artists are either not interested in spending time to explain each steps clearly for the learners or some authors are obviously more interested in selling their special painting materials. What I like about this author is that instead of behave like an artist, he makes himself a good teacher who simply gives lessons as best as he can. No more, no less.

Geoff`s wonderful use of colour and his skill in drawing make this book a MUST for all learners in the use of watercolour. I was drawn to his colour in buildings – composition and use of clouds in balancing the pictures.
