Imagine if someone offered you millions of dollars to solve a simple secret code. Would you try to solve it in your spare time or postpone everything in your life until you figured out the solution?

Brock Manion, a talented graphic artist living on the Southern California coast, is faced with just such a dilemma. After graduating from UCSD, his life is fueled by two dangerous passions—surfing big waves and racing a 300-mph jet dragster. Among the male members of his family, the courage to perform death-defying acts seemed to be genetic—something built into their DNA. The allure of danger led them to take risks for the sheer reward of an adrenalin rush. However, possessing an extra Y-chromosome does not provide the type of courage needed when confronted with a spiritual dilemma.

Return To Violet illuminates the power of forgiveness and reveals how it affects the hearts and lives of those who least expect it. The story provides readers with suspense, adventure, humor, passion—and perhaps even¬¬ a bit of enlightenment.

I just finished “Return to Violet” late last night, and I am in awe. I should have started by telling you that I almost NEVER read for pleasure- it has probably been 12 years since I just read a novel for entertainment. But I have to tell you, I was hooked from the very beginning. There were a lot of twists and turns that I did not see coming. The story line was really clever- lots and lots of subplots, but easy to follow. Everything tied together perfectly in the end. With very minor modifications, your story would make a dynamite Christian movie

It is the first book I’ve read with rodeo, surfing, drag racing, Ginger Baker solos and Yogananda in the mix. At times the writing plods along but if you stay with it the story gets better and better with an interesting cast of characters who grow as the plot twists and turns.

Love the humor!!

These days anything to make me laugh is a winner. And this book does just that! Whether it is a subtle inuendo or a more direct funny situation, it is wonderfully written. I especially enjoy the references that take me to years gone by…like sticky pink Hostess Sno Balls, and Ginger Baker drum solos. Great fun!

A wonderful Southern California adventure and a sweet love story all tied together with universal wisdom. There is something for everyone to like in this one from jet dragsters, lovable grandmas and grandpas, scary dudes, and a search for infinite wisdom. I was transfixed by many scenes and the author kept several interesting story lines going. Loved Booda and you will want to hide from Zane Cross!

With many books you know from the title and the beginning just where the story is heading; not with this story! What does the title mean? Why does chapter 2 seem to have nothing to do with chapter 1? Hold on to your hats, it’s a long, bumpy road.

I did enjoy the book and it meant a lot to me. It seemed to be written about a young man Brock that seems to reminisce a lot about the way past. Like before he was born. Where on earth did he get all this esoteric knowledge. Kids today listen to today’s music not the grateful dead. The dragster theme was plausible however all the surf talk might have been a bit archaic also. The author must be reliving his blast from the past but did a good job at it. Doing community-based work would have better emphasized. Spread that love around purple man. Murf
