Before I purchase any book online, I usually read all the reviews then put the book on my wish list. Later, I go back and read the more up-to-date reviews–then purchase the book. This book has lots of tips and techniques; plus, it includes outlines that can be traced or copied to follow along in the demonstrations (this save a lot of time–you can get to painting right away). Again, I strongly recommend this book, not only to novices but to the more advanced as well looking to improving their portrayal of water.
Excellent book for artists at every level

Although I have not yet “studied” this book in detail, I have given it a quick read through and have been pleased with what I’ve found. I loook forward to a thorough read and trying some of the tips especially. Well written, well illustrated and easy to follow.

Very good instructions but I searched for acrylic books and did not check close enough as acrylics are mentioned but this book is strictly for oil painters. Also, no templates.

I, as a beginner , got a lot from this book. As I do not wish to go to classes, this was just like attending one, except so exclusive and personal. I enjoyed it and would be looking for more of the same. I particularly enjoyed the step by step demonstration and the specific and detailed instructions on painting trees and foliage and rocks.
