This is truly a gem of a book. It is inspiring and illuminating. The author helps us to recognize (and live) the spirituality in every day life. I find it incredibly uplifting. If I am feeling down, I need only open it to a random page, and I find something helpful. It is not a book only to be read, but to be experienced as well. There are many helpful tools to help drive home many of the points. Don’t be put off by this, though. You can still get a lot out of it even if you choose not to partake in the exercises. Even if you don’t agree with my five stars, I recommend you buy this book anyway. It is well worth the cost of the included CD alone.

As a serious spiritual seeker for over 26 years, I deeply appreciate Sharon Janis sharing her revelations of the simple wisdom of a true spiritual perspective. Having read Janis’ beautiful first book, “Never to Return,” I had already discovered the honesty and penetrating depths of her own personal spiritual journey. Now, in “Spirituality for Dummies,” she reveals even more how very special it is to approach life with a simple and open heart, and humor…always appreciating the cosmic giggle at the center of it all. I applaud Janis’ literary gift for writing from the profound and eloquent openheartedness of her own search for universal truths. I strongly recommend this book, for yourself and as the perfect gift for those you love.

This book is a great introduction to spiritual concepts which has helped me begin a spiritual journey. The book presents a different way of looking at the world, which is helpful to me since I was raised in a traditional Christian environment.

I thank the author, Sharon Kumuda Janis, for sharing her knowledge in the book, Spirituality For Dummies. In this book she delivers wisdom she has experienced in life by giving the reader the essence of what is needed to be elevated spiritually. The reader is introduced to a whole new world that he/she never new existed especially if the reader has no religious/spiritual background. For those who have some previous knowledge or are spiritual and seeking God: this book provides a wealth of information that is satisfying, pleasing and helps educate one to clarify some information that may have been misunderstood or perceived differently from other sources.

I really like Sharon Janis’ work in this book; it’s excellent for beginners and, as a reminder, for somewhat experienced metaphysical students and practitioners. I applaud its breadth of content, simplicity, use of humor, and ready acknowledgement that the information presented is not “The Truth.” I would have liked to have seen more of Sharon Janis herself; in various parts it’s somewhat like reading a biography that lists only the events of a life but doesn’t describe the person who lived it. Metaphysics is a transformative journey; I want to understand someone’s struggles, their failures, their triumphs, their growing realization, and how they are changed.
