This 40-Day devotional from Brian “Head” Welch, former lead guitarist of Korn and the New York Times bestselling author of Save Me From Myself, is an intimate tour through the Bible passages that have meant the most to him on his trying journey from substance abuse to salvation. Save Me From Myself, Welch’s self-effacing story his against addiction and his reawakening to divine love, has made the metal band icon into a hero of Christian rock. Head has quite a story. His other books are very good reads if you’re so inclined. He openly shares his life story in his books, the good, the bad and the ugly. He’s gained a little wisdom over the years, like many of us, much of it was self inflicted, a result of poor choices.

I won’t be able to say enough about this book here. No matter how much I write, at the end I will probably feel like I didn’t praise it enough. There is something very real & powerful about Brian Welch & his testimony & everything he says here. Something that just simply sets you on fire! Something that touches the core of your heart & being & makes you wanna hug him, desire to be his friend & just walk alongside him for the rest of your life in this journey called life to live Christ’s calling to all of us. That’s what this book did to me.

Great devotional and a solid pep talk from Brian and The Word about “doing it afraid” and how he overcame his fear of public speaking, singing, and performing sober.
Amazing for new believers! Tattooed and metal heads

This is a great book to give as a gift to a new Christian or non believer. Well, it’s good for anyone too read. But Brian’s books have truly changed my life because I can relate to them. It’s not easy for young tattooed metal loving drug experimenting people to realistically relate to most people in the church! I’m so encouraged by these books especially this devotional. I have since re-committed my life to Christ 🙂

Excellent book! I love listen to Life and Death and wanted to know more about Brian and his journey with God. It was good price for Kindle edition so I bought it first. Got it to my Kindle and my tablet at the same time. Fast and easy.
Another great book from Brian Welch. You don’t want to miss this!

If you are looking for a devotional, look no further. Brian shares his experiences in such an open and honest way. I think many new believers think that life will be rosy once you become a Christian, and that is never the case, as Brian can attest to. God doesn’t want us to stay the way we were. There’s a refining process that takes place…true sanctification. This is an easy read and will tug at your heart and soul.

I loved this book. Welch doesn’t hold back on sharing his mistakes, he makes no excuses. And his explanations and thoughts on how God intervened and now works in his life are inspiring. This book was refreshing and encouraging. It shows God’s nature.
