"I love the way you look at me…"
For aspiring singer, Beatrice Hampton, the future used to be a sweet thing to look forward to, filled with the kind of joy you could write a song about. However, after losing her parents while still in high school, she is left crushed, alone, and harboring a bitter resentment towards the wealthier members of society, whom she partially blames for the destruction of her hopes and dreams. After years of lonely struggle, she can hardly remember the last time she felt happy.

That's when she literally stumbles into billionaire Jeremy Holt, and things take another turn for the unexpected. Seeking only a temporary escape from the cold and grey confines of her life, Beatrice agrees to go with Jeremy on a short trip to New Zealand. On the surface Jeremy is the exact kind of man she promised herself she would never fall for but, after spending some time with him, she realises that maybe there's a lot more to the successful young entrepreneur than his money. Maybe he's the one person that can make her feel alive again.

Beatrice can't deny the spark, the chemistry, between the two of them but her past still haunts her. To be with Jeremy she must face the stresses of life in the public eye and the guilt of broken promises to herself and her parents. To be without him is almost too painful to bear. Will Beatrice and Jeremy get the chance to write the song of their love, or will they each be left with the memory of a beautiful but all too brief time when their lives intertwined?

Excerpt: "…When we entered the house and kicked our shoes off, I led Jeremy by the hand straight up the stairs and paused by the entrance to my bedroom. This was my last chance. If I wanted to stop right here, I could. I could just say goodnight and go to my room alone. If not, then I was lost to the most basic and animalistic needs of my body.

I turned and looked up into his eyes, seeing the barely restrained lust I felt reflected in their depths too. My right hand reached up and felt his chest through his shirt, running downwards until I could feel his clearly defined abs through the light material.

Each muscular bump of his body under my palm was like another nail in the coffin for my resistance and when Jeremy moved against me, pressing my back against the wall next to my bedroom door, I felt another hard bulge against my stomach that sent my hunger for him into overdrive.

Jeremy’s hand buried itself into my hair, gripping lightly but firmly, and pulled me into another kiss, the tip of his tongue reaching out to lightly brush against my own before we parted again and he rested his forehead against mine. Our eyes were only inches apart. If they truly are the window to the soul then it felt like Jeremy had front row seats to mine, like he could see everything and wasn’t running away…"

I’m just going to finish my tears before I write this review, what a way to touch people’s hearts, Bea has gone through so much at a young age and I could completely understand why she acted the way she did, her character while it would seem you shouldn’t be sympathetic to you just couldn’t help but feel everything she was going through, I loved the way that Emma wrote Bea, I was behind her 100%, and as for Jeremy you only see him through Bea’s eyes but you fall in love with him through that, his kindness, sympathy, sense of humour but most of all his love. I don’t think I will ever see a roll of duct tape without thinking about this book. This is a short story, which I understand is a prequel to another story which I will be reading, but although short it has so much in it that you come away completely satisfied. A wonderful story in its own right I would recommend it to those who love a good story with emotion but normal and real characters for although Jeremy is a billionaire, this is not about him having money but about who he is, and who Bea is and how they fit together.

This billionaire book is a little of everything across the Romance spectrum, and I mean that in the best way! Variety is the spice of life, right? In Writing Our Song, elements of angst, mystery, sweet romance, and steam come together like spices in a perfectly slow cooked dish.

Beatrice has her whole life ahead of her with music as the backdrop and her father always by her side, but when tragity happens her whole world is turned upside down and there is no one there to help her find her way back. Years and a lot of heartache later she meets Jeremy, well meet isn’t the right world she spills 6 cups of HOT coffee on him, but it’s his reaction afterwards that has her on pause. Writing Our Song is a touching tale of a young woman whose life is shattered one fateful day. She wanders through life under a crushing load of guilt, never able to open her heart again. Enter billionaire Jeremy Holt. I’m a sucker for nice (and hot!) heroes and Jeremy fits the bill to a T! As the old line goes, I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind using up a box of Kleenex while reading a love story! 🙂

This story is about a loss so great that your life stops, not because you want it to, or asked for it too, but because your heart is so broken, your soul so shattered, that you can’t possibly continue on while allowing your emotions to continue being part of your life…and what is life with no emotions? There is nothing that can help Bea find her way back to life, nothing to make her feel again…until Jeremy. You know it’s true love, you know you’ve met your soulmate, when you can allow yourself to feel again because the love you feel for this person and love you get from this person is just a tiny bit stronger than the sorrow that has consumed you. That is what this story is about. Bea finding her way back to herself. It’s emotional, it will make you cry, it will pain your heart, and it will make you laugh out loud.

This is a story about Beatrice and her love of music. Beatrice is on top of the world, having just nailed a great singing performance with her new band, her father’s love and support, and her first date with her bandmate who she has a crush on. Then one night at their next concert, she gets a phone call that changes her life. The story takes us through Beatrice’s life of heartache, courage, and learning to believe again. With no one in her life, she fights every day to get ahead. Working her way up the ladder in the company she now works at, she comes across Jeremy by accident in a meeting. He then invites Beatrice on the trip of a lifetime, but once returning home will all they experienced be lost.

I received a gifted copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. This one will shed some light on Bea’s past and let you see why she did some of the things she did in Remembering Our Song. All Bea has every wanted to do was sing and her dad was behind her 100% with all the support she needed. Until the day her world feel apart and it would not get any better until she meets Jeremy at her job while she is bringing coffee into the boardroom. When she trips and all the coffee lands in Jeremy’s lap. Good thing there was milk he could pour in his lap to stop the burn. Bea and Jeremy will go through a lot and when she realizes that her past was not her fault, will Jeremy still want her? This story will break your heart, make you laugh and just fall in love with Bea and Jeremy. This is a great addition to the first book and I loved it too. Thanks Emma for letting me read this one. Can’t wait for more from this author.

This book made me cry, laugh, mourn and fall in love. Amazing story and very real emotions and characters. Emma South did an amazing job. This is a must read you end up going through every emotion and you weep for Bea and Jeremy. Love them both so much. The next book in this story is Remember Our Song.

Amazing story you must read

Beatrice was 15 years old when she had the life any teenager would want until tragic hits and leaves her world broken. As her life continues to fall apart and she tries to survive she finds her way, but you can tell it’s not all that she wants, but she is scared. Finally, she meets Jeremy but she’s not ready to give herself to him because in her mind she’s still broken and she needs to repair herself before she can move on. The story goes through her healing process and how she turns it around building herself and learning to love herself again. This story will remind you of how to survive, how to give back, and to live again. Some great laughs but tears too (unless the stories of others don’t affect you). Emma South did an excellent job telling the story with great detail. This is an easy read that will end leaving your heart full and a smile on your face
